ABSTRACT

Covid-19 disease has affected the health and lives of millions of people worldwide. This in turn has distressed the healthcare workers (HCWs) who are working on frontline to safeguard these patients. There is lot of panic and concern amongst the general public, and the healthcare workers. In the absence of understanding of history of disease and treatment guidelines, the healthcare workers have been working under stress. During the pandemic, the role of all the HCWs have been vital including the technical staff who played varied roles. The technical staff faced many challenges related to infrastructure, logistics, social issues, working hours and their own fears and apprehensions while treating Covid patients. These challenges, fears and stress accounted to difficulty in implementing the precautionary measures, even though they understood their purpose and the potential risk of not following them. Exploring these challenges helped the organisation to improve the system by developing policies and protocols to overcome them.
