ABSTRACT

Hospitals play a crucial role in infectious pandemic response. The preparedness required for efficient and effective management of infectious outbreaks include scaling up of resources and services, safety of hospital staff, patients and visitors, hospital leadership and motivation of employees, and various ethical challenges faced by hospital administrators. A well-documented and flexible contingency plan for infectious outbreaks prepared in consultation with concerned stakeholders, along with motivated and committed hospital administration is essential in ensuring smooth hospital services during health emergencies.
