ABSTRACT

The state of Jammu and Kashmir witnesses a range of elevations bringing diversity to its biogeography. As is known, vector-borne diseases (VBDs) are climate sensitive. The reason being that the pathogens involved in VBDs have to complete part of their development in particular species of an insect vector. The change in climate across is expected to extend the presence of VBDs. Therefore, the Jammu and Kashmir state of India with the currently less common presence of VBDs may start recording a higher presence in the future with this climate change.
