COVID-19, an emerging viral disease, has caused devastation globally with millions affected and hundreds of thousands of deaths. It has affected all the nations globally and was declared pandemic in March 2020. The mortality data of both the provinces viz. Jammu and Kashmir of UT of Jammu & Kashmir was analysed till 31 January 2022. A total of 4,681 deaths were reported during this period with 51% of the total in Kashmir province. About two-third of total deaths were in males and 50–69 year age group was the worst affected. Jammu district reported 790 deaths per million population while Srinagar district reported 735 deaths per million population. Co-morbidities were found in 56% of COVID-19 deaths in Jammu province while the figure for Kashmir valley was 79%. One-third of deaths were reported within 1–3 days since admission.
