Preservation of Tribal Folklore Culture through Digitisation: A Study in the Context of Odisha

The adivasis constitute a substantial proportion, i.e., more than 22 percent of the populationin Odisha. Tribal folklores and performing arts open vast horizons to study the Indigenous culture. In this age of Information Technology, there is a lot of scope to preserve all these perishable documents about them. This paper proposes to study the necessity of Information Technology in creating a pool of resources in the study of the Indigenous people of Odisha. The paper also seeks to analyse the preservation of their cultural heritage.
