Public Speaking in K-12 Contexts

This chapter reinforces the importance of public speaking in K-12 contexts. Three main ideas are addressed. First, the chapter provides a historical perspective of public speaking instruction in K-12 environments. Second, this chapter explores a future perspective that advocates for public speaking as a central tenet of K-12 curricula. Third, the authors provide strategies to assist instructors and practitioners primarily at the K-12 level.
