ABSTRACT
This chapter addresses the unique qualities of online public speaking. Current pedagogical and professional trends addressing the emergence of online speaking are identified. Additionally, specific skillsets that distinguish online speaking from face-to-face speaking are expounded upon, and future implications for online public speaking are offered. For instance, an online speaker's need to establish a sense of community with an audience, manage screens, display technical prowess to enhance ethos, and be aware of the downsides of digital communication, are presented.
