ABSTRACT

The implementation of computer-mediated tools in the public speaking curriculum has undergone a significant transformation over the last three years, ranging from the standard use of streaming pre-recorded presentations to the ability to host online meetings and webinars. Central to this transformation has been the importance of online public speaking skills in the communication curriculum and by implication how to best prepare students and employees for this new reality. Accordingly, this chapter will examine a model approach to teaching and assessing online public speaking skills and provide a framework for the successful application of the related technologies.
