ABSTRACT

The aim of this chapter is to provide a pedagogical framework of an online curriculum design based on innovative experiences applied during the pandemic. The framework should support teachers in the delivery of high-quality online practices as well as hybrid practices that became an integral part of recent teaching and learning models. Several constituents can benefit from this framework, like curriculum developers, leaders, and teachers. The core systematic principles of the best international practices including the approach, strategies, instruction, and assessment methods will be considered and discussed as a set of guidelines that enable educators to assess and refine their implementation strategies based on research findings and relate them to the most effective methodology of learning. Additionally, this framework will create a structure around the constructivist philosophy of online teaching and learning to support different ways of students’ engagement through building on learners’ prior knowledge, skills, and experiences to cope with the challenges of a technology rich world.
