ABSTRACT

Wellbeing is to overcome challenges where an individual possesses the adequate psychological, social, and physical resources to overcome a specific challenge. Students were increasingly reporting being more stressed because of Covid-19 online learning. The current study used a quantitative approach to collect data; it involved an online questionnaire. Findings show that online learning negatively impacted UAE students’ wellbeing. Students felt life was not interesting, they felt less engaged, and were moderately happy. Students had a sense of isolation, sadness, boredom, uselessness, anger, and high to moderate sense of worry and anxiety. A minority of students were happy with what they had achieved and accomplished, but a large majority of students felt that they had not achieved the standard of living and social status they would if the pandemic was not there. Also, students felt that sometimes it was hard to manage life and cope with their life situations; a large percentage felt that their life is useless and their sense of belonging and confidence was moderately impacted. Relationships with family and confidence in family were moderately impacted, but students felt confident with family as being a source of help.
