ABSTRACT

This chapter explores how nonprofit management has benefited from advances in information technology. It highlights how the nonprofit management field will need to better understand and manage technology to survive, as these organizations are forced to do more with less. The chapter provides a more thorough understanding of how nonprofit organizations are able to operate with efficiencies never-before-imagined using cloud-based and managed services aimed at greater association management productivity. Nonprofit management has become an increasingly important and popular topic of interest in the public administration community. Just like the government, however, nonprofits deal with issues such as communicating with their various constituencies, exploring cloud-based solutions, managed services, cyber and network security, and database management. Nonprofit associations play an important role for government professionals, helping them be better managers and leaders and prompting them to stay abreast of new issues, policies, technologies, and innovations.
