ABSTRACT

In this final chapter of The Film Landscapes of Global Youth: Imagining Young Lives, Tracey Skelton reflects on the 16 spatially focused chapters that each discuss the lives and portrayals of children in relation to film and media. The chapters are an eclectic mix of methods, mediums, formats, and spaces that all encompass the modern media landscape and the roles of children and young people in, out, and through the “screen.” She approaches this chapter through the method of “musing”: contemplation, absorption, deep thought, and careful consideration. Through this, she is able to draw out connections and themes that weave and converse between the chapters of the volume while also providing her unique insight on the strengths and goals of the book itself.
