It discusses the various ways in which collaborations can be established and shaped, and shares some examples of metrics for measuring the outcomes and success/benefits of the partnerships from the faculty, student, community, and project perspectives. The chapter emphasizes the students, others the faculty, the institution, or the community partnership. It provides some key insights into the various facets of university-community partnerships in planning education and the roles of all players, highlighting a different aspect and perspective coming from India, Europe (including Germany, Spain, Slovakia, and Sweden), Australia, and the United States. It gives an abundance of information, from the perspective of faculty from a US-based institution, related to the practical aspects and logistics of executing a university-community partnership, regardless of the actual project at hand.
