ABSTRACT
To promote educational excellence through community-engaged activities, Ball State University provides a unique learning opportunity for students by creating a university-community partnership to address the challenges of the community through immersive learning. Against this backdrop, PLAN203 Regional Analysis and Design Studio implemented the “Brightfields for a Brighter Future: Solar Potential Analysis for the City of Muncie” project to promote a sustainable future for and with the community. This chapter case studies a successful community-urban planning program partnership for promoting a sustainable future of the community and for providing real-world planning experiences to students.
