In today’s fast-paced world, education must adapt to the constantly evolving needs of learners worldwide. Technology has made information accessible at our fingertips, and those who grew up in the digital era must have unique academic requirements. To address these needs, innovative language-learning methods are necessary. An excellent example of such a technique is creative digital storytelling, which promotes empathy and global awareness. By allowing students to rewrite fairy tales with new story elements, they can enhance their critical and creative thinking skills while learning a new language. This approach fosters a more harmonious and globally aware learning environment that encourages empathy and respect for all living things. To assist multilingual digital natives in acquiring an additional language through innovative teaching methods, digital writing can be employed as a multilingual and creative representation of language learners’ abilities. By rewriting fairy tales with innovative story elements, students can develop higher-order skills, become culturally responsive and innovative, and effectively learn an additional language. Creative digital storytelling is a widely shared approach that can be utilized in language classrooms to create a more engaging and effective language teaching pedagogy. Incorporating creative digital storytelling, like altering fairy tales with new story elements, is an effective way to enhance multilingual writers’ creative writing ability in another language. This approach promotes self-discovery and empathy while developing critical and creative thinking skills. By implementing culturally responsive and innovative language teaching, language learners can experience liberation and higher-order skill development.
