ABSTRACT
When the editors told me of their plans to put together a collection of essays drawing on my academic work over the past three decades, I was both delighted and a little daunted. What themes would emerge? What publications would spark debate? It has been fascinating to read all the contributions to this volume from colleagues and friends and to know that scholarship on issues in mental health, disability and criminal law is in such good hands.
