ABSTRACT

In this chapter, “When the End Is Near: Creative Finishing,” the author describes six ways to enhance a creative work and find a real sense of completion. The processes the author describes are: 1) Focus on yourself first; 2) Remember that there is a delicate balance between honest, caring assessment and perfectionism; 3) Set your work aside for a while; 4) Allow for incubation; 5) Ask yourself: “What does ‘finished’ feel like?”; and 6) Try the exercise “Having a conversation with your work.”
