ABSTRACT

In this chapter, called “The Stories We Tell Ourselves,” the author describes some of the stories that creatives tell themselves to justify why they haven’t completed their creative work. The chapter examines how creatives can explore how true these stories are and whether there may be other reasons for not having finished their work. It describes how creatives can do a time inventory, work with a coach to challenge the stories they are telling themselves, and review past successes to find strategies to help them reach the finish line.
