ABSTRACT

This essay exposes architecture studios the author has been leading mostly in ÉNSA-Versailles those last years, redefining them in a theoretical context. Based on the recent history of ecology and the intention of the Whole Earth Catalog to provide tools to the counter-culture community, the author first elaborates a parallel and a differentiation with the contemporary crises. From the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports, and by calling upon the bases of physics allowing to qualify the relations between matter and energy, the author exposes the methodology he has set up in his teaching, able according to him to answer the stakes of the climate change and the precariousness of the world to come. Organized in three phases, this teaching envisages the encounter of an abstract scientific approach with the diagnosis and the taking into account of the pre-existing context, an encounter sealed by the minimum intervention in the project, a form of architectural concision reducing the project to the essential.
