ABSTRACT

The case of Zoe exemplifies the use of sound, music, and movement with a child recovering from domestic violence. The reader is invited to follow a six-part play therapy journey that highlights Polyvagal theory in action. The power of integrating sound and music in both directive and non-directive interventions is explored. The chapter provides some practical ideas for integrating the use of voice (tempo, pitch, volume, and tone) singing and use of rhythm into the play therapy process.
