ABSTRACT

Chapter 2 presents the role of selected countries in Central Europe during the pandemic. On the examples of Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary (V4), the scope and course of the pandemic as well as the elements of governmental strategies to combat the SARS-CoV-2 virus are presented. On the basis of an analysis of governmental strategies, abuses of political, corrupt and economic nature were identified. The consequences of the pandemic are the result of a causal relationship that was directly triggered by the strategies to combat COVID-19 and indirectly triggered by the resulting abuses of power.
