ABSTRACT

Countless scholars have engaged in queer theory and radical politics to understand the sexual/gender oppression they face, whereas others have explored Anarchism, Marxism, and other anti-capitalistic futures to help explain the inequality present in the world. However, much like with migration studies, Queer theory and Anarchism have infrequently met in academic journals or literature on the two subjects. What, then, do these schools of thought have in common with the previously mentioned theoretical concepts? Briefly, Queer theory, border theory, and Anarchism all have the potential to be merged and offer a radically new perspective on borders, gender, sexuality, culture, and governance. Although border theory, Anarchism, and Queer theory have many of the same critiques and characteristics, they have not been in dialogue with one another long enough to create a new school of thought. For this chapter, the convergence of the different theories gives life to a concept referred to as Tranarcha Border Critique. Tranarcha Border Critique can articulate the politics, presence, and philosophy of a Queered border(s) and anti-capitalistic/Anarchistic future.
