ABSTRACT

Demand for costume and textile condition reports has increased in recent years, resulting in the need for digitally accessible, concise, clear and complete reports that can be created systematically and quickly. This paper examines two components: written and photographic documentation with a focus on how quickly a recipient can utilize the information. The most successful forms of written documentation are easy to read and locate condition issues on a costume or textile. Photographic documentation is digital, well labelled and often annotated to highlight condition issues. This case study illustrates the evolving nature of condition reports in a fast-paced, digital work environment.
