ABSTRACT
As a coda to our book on Bengal-Italy exchanges, we decided to interview the current consul general of Italy in Kolkata Dr Gianluca Rubagotti. The conversation helped us to understand the continuing diplomatic and cultural dialogues between Bengal and Italy and to locate the 19th- and 20th-century interactions between the two cultures within a dynamic and enduring relationship.
