ABSTRACT

About 85% of Warsaw, the capital of Poland, was ruined during World War II. After 77 years, Warsaw became an important logistic hub in the CEE region and has the status of the smart city in Poland. The chapter is focusing on answering the main research question, if Warsaw is a smart city, does it support and appeal to the foreign business and investment? The research is based upon the most recent projects made by the municipality of Warsaw in the area of smart city management. Besides that, the chapter also indicates the main challenges also related to the war in Ukraine and how the smartness of Warsaw helps the Ukrainians to stay in Warsaw.
