ABSTRACT

This study is based on the assumption that memory has a dynamic structure and that the displaced person’s memory reproduces space by reconstructing it. It aims to open the time-spatial relationships in question through the concept of a dynamic 3D-montage, and its path is based on autobiographical memory. So, to enter the world of the subject, Muharrem, the Life Story Method was used. Muharrem remembered space in real-life, in real time, and with tools that trigger the experience of recall (photos, memory objects, maps, etc.). These memories are supported by the works of artists with a background in displacement. In this article, a unique path of transnational displacement is represented with the help of a non-linear fragment sequence. In this way, it becomes possible to relocate the assembled totality of the displaced person’s memory to a level that can be discussed in separate but connected chapters and with self-defining fragments.
