ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of the Global Population Issues STEM Road Map module. In this module, students will investigate issues associated with population growth, population distribution, and population density, both for humans and other species. The chapter describes how students will explore mathematical models as tools for counting a species and developing population estimates, how students will explore urban planning through a lens of population density and associated issues, and how they will synthesize their learning to devise ways to determine the population count of a given species.
