ABSTRACT
Comparative law has undoubtedly changed over the past thirty years or more. This change is witnessed in the literature devoted to the topic which has seen over this period an enormous increase in output and variety. In addition, this literature reflects changes in the approach and content of the subject. The question, however, is whether this increase and change amounts to a progression regarding comparative law knowledge or whether it simply reflects changes of emphasis.
