ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the importance of fostering critical thinking in primary school to educate the new generations living onlife towards understanding the risks and opportunities of the Web. Different types of risks are outlined with a focus on cyberbullying. After examining the opportunities offered by the Web and the need to invest in teacher and educator training, Media education is discussed as a tool to gain greater awareness of the use of the Web and the digital world.
