ABSTRACT

Digitalisation has in recent years permeated more areas of society. Social work is, however, a field that has been slow in its digital transition, until COVID-19 hit Sweden in 2020. Using the theory of reciprocal change management and three perspectives on work, this article examines how we can understand this sudden shift towards digitalisation and what role COVID-19 has played. The article points to three parts: 1) COVID-19 as a driver for change; 2) the connection between systems and its Community of Practice; and 3) the importance of involving a Community of Practice in the reformatting of their own standards.
