ABSTRACT

This chapter investigates the burgeoning collaboration between positive psychology and lifestyle medicine, revealing essential discoveries in positive psychology with practical implications for lifestyle and general medicine practitioners. Positive psychology is segmented into three broad levels – subjective, individual, and group – each contributing to our comprehension of human flourishing pathways. These levels guide the chapter structure, concentrating on ten significant research areas, including, but not limited to subjective and eudaimonic well-being, positive psychology interventions, positive self-evaluation, time perspective, positive organizations and positive education, and drawing on meta-review and meta-analytic evidence when accessible. Nearly all constructs of positive psychology bear a significant association with mental and physical health outcomes. However, it’s critical to conduct a meticulous review of the existing research to formulate practical recommendations effectively.
