ABSTRACT

In this chapter, Christine Henseler hopes to spark a movement. She proposes the development of more cross-disciplinary and diverse learning experiences to increase innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable human-supportive change. Through personal experiences, specific case studies, and recent studies, her chapter explores how young entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and educators are applying knowledge and skills learned in the arts and humanities to challenge assumptions, offer new perspectives, and offer practical paths moving forward. Referring to reports, such as the GII Innovation Index, the Business Roundtable, and Deloitte, Henseler points to the need for additional investment in the building of human capital and the multidisciplinary innovation of educational institutions, departments, and programs.
