ABSTRACT

The ability for employees to think outside the box and be creative is highly valued by firms. Firms also invest huge sums in an attempt to develop creativity and innovative thinking in their workforce. This research shows that by demonstrating integrity, ethical leadership cascades down through the organisation, promoting trust and setting a positive environment for creativity and innovation to take place. Furthermore, at the same time, integrity provides ensures a safeguard against breaches of ethics and misconduct, thereby reducing the risks of the firm being involved in corporate scandals.
