ABSTRACT

The author identifies and draws attention to Padma Vibhushan Soli Sorabjee’s incredible contributions to international and national law through his work and publications. Sorabjee was a champion of freedom of speech and expression. To shed light on his work, the chapter addresses the limits that merit rethinking and presents alternative reform, review and amendment. In any legal system, the armour of reform, dissent, modification and review is essential to the growth of law and order while attempting to maintain a harmonious relationship with social change. Therefore, the ability to re-imagine contributes to the formation of logical and well-informed cognition, as well as the perception of broader viewpoints, that aid in the growth of a society’s legal system in tandem with the progression of time. As the readers will observe, this Chapter includes a small tribute in the form of a reflection on time spent with Sorabjee.
