ABSTRACT

Kelly Comfort and Jennifer Hirsch’s co-written conclusion, “Think Global, Act Local: Partnerships and Projects (SDG 17),” has three main objectives: (1) to summarize SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) and establish its importance as the culminating goal in the UN SDG framework; (2) to propose various end-of-course activities that involve re-engaging with the 12 global humanities texts treated in this book as they relate to SDG 17; and (3) to put forth a series of projects that can be done in partnership with campus- and community-based partners (organizations and/or artists, authors, or directors) to advance the UN SDGs through humanities-related efforts taking place in students’ own backyards. While oriented toward practical applications in local contexts, the conclusion also facilitates final reflection and dialogue.
