ABSTRACT
Enrichment programs in prison play a powerful role in helping prisoners make good use of their time, despite the numerous obstacles that make providing such programs difficult. Through his experience teaching a poetry class to fellow prisoners, the author highlights the challenges of facilitating an arts program within a federal institution and offers suggestions for best practices for people interested on providing a similar service.
