ABSTRACT

Social healing calls for new discourses and practices of humanism, pragmatism and practice. Humanism has been in crisis for a long time and for some time now there has been talk about the challenge of the posthuman transformation of humanity and society. This chapter explores new visions and practices of pragmatism to help us rethink language, self and society, which it calls spiritual pragmatism. It argues how it can help us overcome the challenges of crises of humanism as well as limits of one-sided technological transhumanism.
