ABSTRACT
The present chapter attempts to provide a comprehensive overview on Islamic crowdfunding and sustainable finance. Islamic crowdfunding and sustainable finance have merged as a saviour for the recipients as alternative funding to the existing financial system. The chapter explores a systematic literature review of Islamic crowdfunding and its relation to sustainability. To meet its objective, extensive review of the related literature is performed on more than 50 articles from the Scopus database based on the publications from 2018 until 2022. Three main themes are reviewed based on the screened articles: i) Islamic crowdfunding as the alternative funding, ii) potential of Islamic crowdfunding, and iii) Islamic crowdfunding and financial technology (fintech). The chapter is expected to contribute further understanding of Islamic crowdfunding for sustainable finance in the Islamic finance field.
