ABSTRACT
The Queer Revolution Morocco (QRM’s) activist call comes as a reaction to mass outings instigated by a Moroccan trans woman, who’s a social media influencer living in Turkey. She asked her followers on Instagram to go on queer dating applications, pretend to be members of the queer community, and out Moroccan queer people. The notion of an archive has evolved from being simply a place where information and documents are stored or a tool used by those in power to legitimize their authority, to a more complex and multifaceted contested conceptualization. Archival conventions and standards are usually oriented towards organization and systematicity, particularly in the way they are spatially and temporally managed. QRM’s disorientation of its interlocutors from the individual pieces and hashtag feeds themselves to new terrains and transnational struggles and marks an important shift in thinking systematically when it comes to this mass outing that QRM is partially responding to.
