ABSTRACT

The departure point for this collaborative volume was when Seoul National University Asia Centre (hereafter, SNUAC) and the Humanities Korea (HK) (a research foundation in South Korea) decided to collaborate on a research project entitled ‘Mega-Asia.’ The SNUAC is a research institute based in Seoul, South Korea and it was officially launched in February 2009 against the backdrop of the Asian Era that demands an enhanced understanding of various Asian countries by producing new knowledge. In order to conduct this study, back in September 2020, the authors reached out to fourteen archaeologists and heritage studies scholars worldwide, all with expertise in different parts and topics of Asia, and invited them to write about their current research of Asia’s past in order to create a collage of ‘current’ and ‘trending’ topics.
