ABSTRACT
The artists whose voices are heard in this chapter are drawn from some of the most eminent exponents of their art form in North-East India. They have all received numerous awards and accolades. Most artists are Sattriya dancers, and some gained their early experience in the art form as students in a Sattra. Several of the artists discuss the fact that they are experts in more than one dance form. Some dancers are also film actors or excel in areas such as musicology or broadcasting.
