ABSTRACT

The author’s motivation for conducting a study of the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) stems from its inception in 1991, its roots, its subsequent changes, the idea behind its creation and the first international external evaluation in 2005, and the adaptation of the system to the new challenges of COVID-19. The topic of the chapter corresponds with the author’s career development and his attempts and desire to improve the Polish national response system in connection with the implementation of tasks included in the “Priorities for Action” set out in the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030.
