ABSTRACT
Crafting a professional identity that can empower and propel a teacher and researcher forward cannot be underrated in our fast-paced working life. Any wrong decision can result in the loss of a position, title, designation or salary. Hence, knowing how to engender a path that can steer the way towards a robust professional identity and hence a solid career is imperative. Drawing on anecdotes and hard lessons learned by the author, this chapter unpacks a framework of concrete pathways that a teaching professional and researcher can undertake to boost one's professional identity whilst counter challenging blind spots and hurdles along the way.
