ABSTRACT

This chapter is an attempt to reflect on the essence of holistic education, learning and assessment, which is extensively mentioned in the new National Education Policy 2020 of India, which is going to be implemented in future. The chapter is constructed on the primary and secondary data collected through policy document analysis, desk review, deliberations of stakeholders and focus group discussion to design a Holistic Progress Card for grades 1, 2 and 3 under the National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN) Bharat Mission for holistic assessment, referring to the NIPUN Bharat Guidelines issued by the Department of School Education and Literacy, at the Ministry of Education.
