ABSTRACT

When working with an international lens, either in a country that is not your home country or with artists who are not from your country – or both – cultural context, industry modus operandi and interpersonal relationships must be considered. From the way you get the job, to how you do the job, to the closure and post-production phase, the level and type of attention and care required varies country to country. In this article, Cessalee Stovall proposes a number of factors for consideration when working in or with an international context to be as effective, inclusive and conscious as possible.
