ABSTRACT
Metaphysics has been subordinated to the priority of political utility, rather than the pursuit of truth. There are, however, two notable historical exceptions to this rule: the Hebrew and Greek peoples. As the chosen people of God, the Hebrew people disclosed and manifested God’s relationship with all humanity, and the Greek people discovered that human need is best met via mutual service.
