Approaches and Models Used to Promote Health

This chapter starts to look at the ways in which health status can be improved. It discusses seminal academic work studying recognised approaches to health promotion and models used and the ways in which these influence public health policy, giving practical examples. A cost versus benefit analysis forms the basis of a critical thinking activity for the reader and the reader is invited to apply health approach principles to a specific health issue.
