ABSTRACT

The proposal for the European Qualifications Framework was launched by the European Commission in September 2006. This recommendation outlines an overarching framework to be set up in Europe to facilitate the comparison of qualifications and qualifications levels to promote geographical and labour market mobility as well as lifelong learning. 1 The Qualifications Frameworks in the European Higher Education Area (QFEHEA), although it was launched prior in 1999 together with the Bologna process, is coherent with the EQF, as they adopt the same descriptors, namely knowledge, skills, and competences.
