ABSTRACT

In the eminently digital society, children and adolescents carry out interpersonal interactions in both face-to-face and virtual scenarios. In both contexts, interpersonal interactions can be either prosocial or antisocial. Prosocial interactions are important for an adequate development and well-being of young people while antisocial behaviours, including violence, are known to have detrimental short- and long-term consequences. Among the most common problem behaviours studied in schools, bullying, and cyberbullying are especially harmful. Both bullying and cyberbullying are immoral, unjustified, dangerous, and intentionally harmful types of aggressive behaviours. Children and adolescents can get involved in bullying in their offline interactions and get involved in cyberbullying in their online interactions.
