ABSTRACT
The canons of the Spanish version of the Almanack Perpetuum end with a colophon which Maghribi readers seem to have found difficult to understand to the: Aqui se acaba la recela et las tablas tresladadas de abrayco en latin et de latin en noestro vulgar romance per mestre jusepe vezino decipolo del actor de las tablas. The main problem seems to have been the identification of what a Romance language is and the extent to which this language is different from Latin. Here Romance has been transformed into Ramnas. On the other hand there seems to be some confusion between Latin and Romance. The translator is, probably, unaware of the fact that the first edition of the Almanach was printed twice, once with the canons in Latin and, again, in Spanish, both versions apparently due to Vizinho himself. In any case, in both prints, the tables were exactly the same, with their headings in Latin.
